Zamia Gold Mines Limited (“Zamia Gold”) is undertaking a major exploration and development programme in the Clermont region of central Queensland. The Clermont region has a long and famous history of gold mining dating back to 1862. The region produced more than 400,000 ounces of gold from 1878 to 1956, while intense exploration since 1980 has resulted in the discovery of over 20 previously unknown prospects. The well known gold mines Pajingo and Vera-Nancy are prime examples of the mineral potential of the region.
The Zamia Gold exploration projects cover an area of approximately 2750 km2, north of Clermont in the southern part of the Drummond basin.
Zamia Gold holds nine exploration permits and one application for a permit. The Company holds an option over the Belyando open pit. It also has rights over the old Lucky Break mine which was in operation between 1987 and 1988. Exploration for new resources continues at both sites. Zamia Gold Mines is now listed on the Australian Stock Exchange.
